Traditional Hand Therapy
Movement assisted manually
Weak movement can limit active practice
Repetition depends on therapist assistance
Feedback primarily therapist-led
Exercises performed through physical tasks
Hand of Hope® is an sEMG-driven robotic hand rehabilitation system that responds to the patient’s own intention to move. It detects voluntary muscle activity and uses robotic assistance to help complete hand opening and grasping movements, supporting active participation and motor relearning.
Hand of Hope®

The patient attempts to move the hand, generating voluntary EMG activity.
EMG sensors detect the muscle signal associated with the intended movement.
The robotic hand brace responds to the signal and assists the hand movement.
Completed movement and interactive training provide feedback that supports repeated motor relearning.

Retraining hand opening, grasping and functional upper-limb movement.
Supporting recovery of voluntary hand and arm movement.
Developing hand control and functional upper-limb skills.
