Sidra LEG®

About Sidra LEG®

Sidra LEG® is a robotic rehabilitation system designed for neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation of the lower limbs. It combines dual-drive robotic movement with electromyography (EMG) and synchronised electrical muscle stimulation, allowing patients to actively participate in training even when voluntary muscle activity is limited.

Clinical Application

How it supports leg movement

Sidra LEG®

Explore How Sidra LEG® Works

  1. 01 — Intention

The patient attempts to move the lower limb, generating electrical activity within the muscles.

  2. 02 — Detection

EMG sensors detect the patient’s muscle activity and recognise the intention to move.

  3. 03 — Assistance

The robotic system assists the movement while electrical stimulation can be synchronised with the patient’s muscle activation.

  4. 04 — Movement

Dual drives coordinate knee and ankle movement, allowing functional lower-limb patterns to be repeatedly practised and progressively strengthened.

Clinical Purpose

  • Restore Lower-Limb Movement

  • Improve Muscle Strength

  • Increase Range of Motion

  • Improve Coordination

  • Support Gait Relearning

Patient receiving Sidra LEG robotic therapy to support lower limb mobility and walking rehabilitation

Why Aster Walk Again

Traditional Lower-Limb Rehabilitation

  1. Movement guided manually by the therapist

  2. Muscle activation is assessed primarily through observation

  3. Electrical stimulation may be delivered separately

  4. Knee and ankle exercises are often trained separately

  5. Repetition depends on physical ability and therapist assistance

Sidra LEG® Assisted Rehabilitation

  1. Robotic assistance supports lower-limb movement

  2. EMG detects and measures muscle activity

  3. Stimulation can be synchronised with movement

  4. Dual drives can coordinate knee and ankle movement

  5. Active, assisted and passive modes adapt to patient ability
